Android - Cannot lock screen anymore

The keys on the outside of my phone (Power, Volume Up, Volume Down, Camera) have died on me today. I changed the settings to "unlock on double-tap" and "lock after 15 seconds" to be able to use my phone without the Power/Lock Screen key. Having to wait 15 seconds before I can put my phone back into my pocket is extremely annoying. Is there a way to add a lock screen button on android (similar to the quick buttons you can press to enable or disable wifi, hotspot, bluetooth, airplane mode, etc.)? It's a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.

Background story:
Spoiler:
8 AM: Phone's charging. I check the time on it. Works just fine.

11 AM: Want to google something at work. Phone appears to be turned off. The screen is black and it does not respond to any input. I try turning it on using the Power Button, but it doesn't work.

I proceed to press random key combinations, figuring that there must be some kind of hard reboot combination in case the phone just crashes. It works, even though as I found out by now, I did not actually press the proper key for that.

The phone vibrates, the screen lights up immediately, and I see the front page unlocked. This was nothing like a regular unlock or boot up.

In addition to that, after 3 hours off the charger, the battery is still at 100%, indicating that it was some kind of crash where the phone would just stop working altogether.

I am now stuck with dead keys even though they must have worked when I pressed them to revive my phone.

The #2 seems perfect. I will give it a shot. Thanks! It appears to have a "lock by proximity" option so it won't unlock in my pocket (which is bound to happen a lot with the "double tap to unlock" shit I have to use right now).

i use double tap to unlock a lot, just because its easy, but I got a book cover case, so it doesnt touch my leg at all.

iirc unless hardware supports it, it uses a ton of battery. So if you're worried about battery life, it's not suggested.

I charge my phone every night anyway, as it's just better for the battery.
