started with deus ex machine back in the days looking for realistic graphics for the
and then found the gud stuff like cowboy bebop, samurai 7, one punch man, wonderful days, evangelion and so on ... but lately most of the stuff got too mainstream losing its character.
fortunately there is more then enough gits stuff waiting for me, just lacking the mood to watch anything
Try: Gungrave, Death Note, Berserk, Trigun, Ruroni Kenshin, Full metal Alchemist (brotherhood), Code Geass,Samurai Champloo and maybe Shigurui for the nice visuals.
All of these are series, if you are interested i can recommend you some nice stand alone animes, or even classic japanese movies if you have the stomach for those.
death note wasnt bad but overhyped, berserk was too pervert and the story was meh, i couldnt connect to fma since i am more into sci fi, champloo was great and i also dislike code geass. gonna check shigurui and gungrave. go ahead and recommend some stand alones, most of the time those are the best.
Hunter x Hunter : Very long anime and seems mainstream at first, but has some deep and dark storylines making you binge watch 20 episodes a day.
Shokugeki no Soma: Anime about cooking. Sounds boring at first, but is fun to watch with comedy elements and surprisingly good plot, especially if you can appreciate the accuracy of the "science" behind cooking
Snow White with the red Hair: Rather "slow" anime re interpretating the old tale. Likeable characters, beautiful artstyle and animations
Log Horizion: A different, more "realistic" approach to the genre of "getting stuck in a game", rather interesting, good character development
7 Deadly Sins: Just a fun anime, interesting story and does not take itself too serious
