new keyboard

hey guys, after stronk advice threads for buying ze ultimate gaming mice and pc's i'm still wondering which keyboard to buy.
currently i have a logitech g15 but it seems to malfunction more and more often, so i'm already thinking about buying something new.

since i like the fancy shit with lights and stuff i have thought about this:

http://steelseries.com/de/products/keyboards/steelseries-apex-gaming-keyboard

or that

http://www.razerzone.com/de-de/store/razer-deathstalker

it could be important to know that i'm pretty comfy with the way my logitech works, i.e. that it's not such a flat keyboard and has a normal key layout.
i guess i won't mind using laptop keyboards either, since you can get accustomed easily to it, but they have to use a normal layout in that case.
i don't care about size, weight or other weird reasons some persons would choose keyboards by ^^

so what do you use or can you suggest ?
5€ cherry keyboard? :> ( sth waterproof veiti ? >:D )

Gaming keyboards are hands down the biggest waste of money.

Some old mechanical keyboards are always nice, no backlight, no usb hubs, works when glass spills over them, ps/2 port, always good feedback and cheap as hell.

well i'm not concerned about the functionality, same goes for mice imo ( doesn't matter if you spend 40€ or 100€) if that was the main focus i would agree with you and wouldn't pay more than 20-30€,
but as i wrote, i like it fancy. for example the background LED's, i actually use the usb-hubs on my keyboard and i'm concerned about the design.

i thought maybe someone would have had bad experiences with steelseries, razer, roccat, coolermaster,... in any way and could clearly warn me about certain products or give a hint which product really kicks ass
but thanks so far.

If you play FPS games, you need a keyboard with good grip same with the mouse. Also, I haven't tried to spill water on my keyboard to see if it still works. But who spills water like veit anyway? ;D

Oh yeah and LED lights help a lot when it's dark.

nothing better than an old ibm ps/2 keyboard (no joke) but if you want fency stuff which is not better in any aspect but the cherry keys go for the CM keyboard, i hate keyboards which got extra keys left of the left ctrl button and those cm keyboards are able to handle even the illest sc:bw pros (300apm+)

my choice would be the http://geizhals.at/de/355831349 cause its like that cm keyboard and the ibm keyboard made kids ;)

i can understand why you dislike the idea of putting quality into a keyboard because of your ... habbits :sealmato:
