Besiege

This game needs its own thread. I bought it yesterday and got instantly addicted. Who else is playing this?

Spoiler:
First thing I build was obviously a tank.

And various machinery for killing sheep.

But that got boring rather quickly. Flying machines are probably the most fun. This one is very stable and easy to control.

Next project is a quick firing gun.

Dis.

Although I did make one awesome chainsaw-plow+catapult combo with which I could complete all the missions, that thing is seriously bad ass :dealwithit:

that sounds like a challenge. creating one machine for all levels.

Check this out from the start. You just build what ever maniac madmax machine from hell you come up with and complete levels.

It's a physics sandbox. You build machines to destroy and kill things.

I don't really care much about the missions. Played them once, now I'm just building giant machines. But I accept the challenge :sealdier:

My most recent machines:

The feeding mechanism is still missing. I might rework the barrel, it's not the most solid construction. Also can't aim or move yet.

Image

Yes, this actually flies. Still have to do the controls, but I think I will make it bigger first :D

If I wouldn´t be such a grasping person, I would have bought it already :D
But I like to watch the awesome videos <3

I would go for it if it wasn't early access :tomatard:

aaaaand completed.

What would be more appropriate than a big ass tank:
Image

Still fits in the box though!
Image

Featuring: 11 cannons
Image

Tripple catapult
Image
Image

A grappler for moving stuff
Image
Image

...or killing people
Image

This little guy at the side can be detached
Image

The spike is rather nasty
Image

But Hellfish, how do you want to get through the mazes with this giant slow box?

Easy, the core is located in detachable section in the front.
Image
Image

Will do all missions. Just kills your fps :D
(and takes like half the keyboard for the key bindings)

I still haven't found a good way to build a reloadable gun. Multiple pistons work, but they are not very powerful. A crossbow with lots of springs is pretty strong, but it tends to fall apart and it doesn't reset very well. Once I have that part I'm going to try a real tank. The turret ring and elevation mechanism will be a challenge too.

All I can say is: Besiege is the poor man's Kerbal Space Program :dealwithit:

Oh I tried that one.
At least it was fun to see my rockets explode, crash or whatever.
I just played a pretty buggy alpha though.

Spoiler:
Slightly more elegant all level machine. It isn't the easiest quadrocopter to fly, but it will do all levels.
Image
Image

Carries 6 bombs, good enough for any fortress.
Image

Gear can be lowered...
Image

...to detach the rover
Image

I tried using a retractable arm in the middle to grab and transport stuff, but it is ridiculously hard to use. The rover also makes the level easier, where you have to drive through those gates.

Spoiler:
Reloadable catapult truck!
Image
Image
Image

This actually fits in the box!
Image

The magazine holds 7 rounds. The follower will push the ammunition under the loading crane...
Image

...which will pick up the round...
Image

...and load it into the catapult.
Image
Image

It's surprisingly mobile and maneuverable for it's size
Image

However you should be really careful when operating the loading crane given the amount of explosives inside

now that you witnessed on your own how awesome engineering is and that killing with machines is way better than with you own hands, dont you kinda regret to study sth utterly useless instead of joining ze masterrace of uberengineering ? :sealdier: :sealdier:

we need some system to this forums to not load all images at once :!
