Pff ..how many planes are there in the top tier games? If you get that many with a cruiser..



Carriers have many. I was fighting two carriers at the same time there. Each squadron has 6 planes. High tier carriers have probably over 50 planes each.

I got a Beta key to spare at the moment. Friendly S3AL guy gave me one, but I won't use the code myself.
Running WoT on old render with 30fps kinda gives me the feeling that I won't be able to play WoWs properly.
So... Does anyone still want a key?

Runs great even on my machine and i had to play WoT with lowest settings at ~25fps all the time

Well, I tried World of Warplanes on lowest graphics and got about 5fps. I got the bad feeling that Ships won't be much of a difference, but if you tell me that it's worth a try I'll use the code myself.

Captains,
While we are working on an announcement, here are the main points of today's update:

- New ship! Well, it is "just" a Premium but still... Say hello to the cruiser Murmansk! Looks familiar? It should - it is basically a late war Omaha class that was borrowed to the Soviet Navy! Especially recommend to have a look at the wonderful baby Catalina called Beriev 4.
- Balance changes - especially for certain IJN destroyers. Gun turrets will be back in business - still not as fast as the US Navy DDs though.
- Reworked map - the New Dawn. That is not all however:
- New map: Open ocean. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide - let's try it out!
- Slower cap both in "Capture the flag" and in Domination.
Turkish localisation was added to the game client.

Apart from this, a whole host of bugs was fixed - you will see the detailed list later today.

Open ocean sounds like a bad idea to me. Not only dd's but also cruisers will have trouble on that one. This map will also invite BB's to stay at max range instead of getting into effective combat range of about 13 km. As a BB player myself i can allready see it comming that most BB's will be encouraged in their behavior of staying in the comfort zone instead of making the right decisions like a push when needed to. I have lost/drawed too many games because of exactly this kind of playertype.

I'm pretty damn sure that old navyfield veterans have been asking for this map type. It worked quite well but BB's in navyfield were actually useful at max range and cruisers/dd's didn't play a role anyway since the techtree was different. DD/CL were the ship types that came before level 60 and from that point on straight to level 120 you only have BB/CV. WoWS is different in this regard since all types have equal tiers.

You'll just have a first line of DDs, then cruisers then BBs.

Once DDs gets rekt, CAs gets targeted by enemy BBs and CAs. Once they are rekt the BBs will be exposed. We shall see how it works, on supertest apparently it worked well.

Another change that happened: you will find most AA ratings in the port increased. If that means just a fix to the numbers or it's an actual buff of AA, that i don't know.
My NO however went from 34 to over 50. And the Baltimore gets closer to 60-70 i think :3

Because super test reflects reality in randoms later on. We know how well this concept works in WoT.

Nope, i will keep my prognosis and say that the open map will be disliked by people. This should be restricted to t8+ matches where most td's at least have more range with their torps.

Guess it's comparable to WoT where mediums (CA/CL) can carry a game easier thanks to their abillity of moving faster compared to heavys (BB).
