It looks like it's old news, but i just found out: the GOT creator will produce the new Star Wars series (after this trilogy finishes this year). OMG the fans will regret Rian Johnson, good thing i'm not a fan. :P

According to this: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live- ... ar-1163290
- David Benioff and Dan Weiss, the creators of Game of Thrones, will serve as executive producers on any successor show that moves forward, though they will not be involved in any writing efforts.
- The pilot comes from creators Jane Goldman and Martin, with the teleplay credited to Goldman. Executive producers include Goldman, Martin, Vince Gerardis and Daniel Zelman. SJ Clarkson (Netflix's Jessica Jones and The Defenders, as well as the forthcoming Star Trek 4) will direct the pilot, and also serves as executive producer.

david and dan will be the producers - not writers? that seems odd :Oo: I've watched all of the BTS videos on their youtube channel, and from what I've seen they seemed to do very little on-set... I guess they just had their hands full with writing (noKappa)
it only makes sense to have GRRM on the crew, I assume he'll be writing the plot/story? if david & dan aren't writing it, don't see who else would

Well, I read the leaks and spoilers some weeks ago so I already knew what would happen.

Pros
Spoiler:
- Tyrion ragequitting like a boss
- Tyrion talking to Jon, in the end briging up his sisters, making Jon kill Dany
- Drogon destroying the Iron Throne
- Acting in general, e m o t i o n s
- Edmure Tully wants to get king, getting shrekt by Sansa
- All the Stark saying farewell to each other
- Bronn got his fookin castle, Sam a maester, Podrick a Ser
- Brienne finishing Jaimies story
- Ghost finally gets the love he deserves

Cons
Spoiler:
- Bran became the 3 eyed raven... For no fucking reason
- Jon taking the black as 1000th Commander of the Nights Watch, but then riding north the wall with the wildlings?
- Jon turns out to be a Targaryen and the true heir to the iron throne...for no fucking reason
- Danny did amazing things for 8 seasons...for no fucking reason
- Prince who was promised... No fucking reason
- Grey Worm being like: no you can't have Jon, Kingslanding is ours -> Tyrion speaks for 2min -> Grey Worm: oh hey nevermind, as the new king commands
- Brandon Stark, the character no one gives a shit about for 8 seasons, gets king
- Season 1-7: winter is coming, Season 8: well nevermind hello spring lol
- no birth right anymore? So also no marriages to strenghten bonds between houses and the crown gg, 1 decade later and half of the kingdom in open rebellion

To summarize. The episode was second best for me after Ep 2.

The visuals, the acting, the production, the effects and especially the soundtrack were extraordinary this season.
D&D proved themselves to be genius at adapting books into a series - sadly only as long as there are books to adapt from.

The entire show has been awesome, I really enjoyed watching it and I am sad that it is done now.
The way they ended it leaves me in anger, sadness, a little joy and confusion but also makes me wanna read the books so I can finish the intended ending to the Game Of Thrones once GRRM gets his stuff done.

Fully agreed with cumcumber. Also thought about reading the books to get actual ending :D

This last episode didnt make me mad at all... it was simply the logical conclusion of the retardation from previous 3 episodes, so apart from that Greyworm/Tyrion 2 minute speech that suddenly changed everything, there really wasn't anything retarded in the context of what the previous episodes established. Basically, id be fine with all the retardation they pulled this season if it was actually properly set up and executed, which would need like 1 more season at the very least. Although deus ex Arya killing Night King - cant see how they could ever set that up for it not to be retarded. Then all that Azor Ahai shit and stuff that was set up over many seasons... well, still would prefer most of those things not to vanish, but i could live with them not happening if there was actual reason in the show for them not happening, other than them being like "lol, pognog, lets ignore that and do instead this shit".

I wonder how long it would take to listen through all the audiobooks at x2 speed

Spoiler:
I liked the ending, a lot was rushed obv (which was clear from the end of season 6 when you knew all the strings will be brought together in just 2 seasons while it felt like some half way point in the story), but overall the only really disappointing things to me at least were the two battles (tactically, logically) and Arya being built up as a master assassin for a few seasons to then become an adventurer that wants to explore the unknown, wtf.

Bran sucks balls. Danny was a whore for a long time already (remember that she wanted to fly to the red keep mid season 7 already to burn everything down? So fuck those "her calculated-to-mentally-questionable-development was done in like 2 episodes"-people). Greyworm should've been slaughtered by Arya really. Varys dying for his believes was awesome. So much more to touch on, but well most people wanna hate anyway :waxx25:

what i was wondering is where the fuck did all those dothraki and unsullied suddenly come from? they lost most of their troops in the fight against the night king, right? suddenly the next episode theres a fuckload of them and this episode seemed like there was a full fucking army of them. like what?

They were needed for plot reasons and two dimwits are so busy with their plans to ruin another franchise that they stopped giving a fuck about context. Script called for grey worm to have some kind of leverage so some dothraki and unsullied pop up.

Spoiler:
Overall I think it was okay how it ended, even if it was somewhat expected. I did not look into any leaks, but the ending was mostly what I thought it would be, Jon killing Dany was obvious simply because there had to be some drama and Jon had to be good for something in the end. I dont really like how they cut to the big meeting after Jon killed her, I am sure Greyworm would just have killed Jon after he found out. The only thing that makes me sad is that we will never know what Podrick did to those girls...

Thoughts:
Jon:
-nice acting while killing Dany. The pain was real
-apparently drogon acknowledges him as true targaryen hence why he didn't kill him. That's what the targaryenblood was good for in the end
-instead the dragon seemed to have understood that what really killed Dany was the fanatic wish for the throne. Also nice acting by Emilia Clarke, she captured the half-insane thing very well
-nice reunion with tormund and ghost
-but is he going north to become king of the north north?
-why not just stay in the south? Greyworm left before Jon left. So why not be like "trolled, lol, I will halp as council if the king"

Misc.:
-Aryas ending was stupid af, although she mentioned wanting to go west in the beginning. But which green eyes did she close in the end? Or did she close Danys eyes indirectly because tyrion mentioned her to convince Jon?
-Bran the dude no one wanted with the most stupid characterarc ever becomes King
-brienne bringing jaimes arc to a nice close
-why is brienne in the kings guard instead of staying with Sansa?
-the small council was a nice touch
-get fucked edmure LUL
-what about the mother of the sandsnakes?

In the end the "Starks" reign over everything. 6 kingdoms, the north, the wall/the north north, arya probably finding a new land she will conquer LUL
I would have loved for an additional episode as epilogue. What happens in 10 years. How did they manage the rebuilding of the kingdom? What about all the starks? Do they have kids? What happened to drogon? Just something to feel good about which brings the thing to a close. Leaving it like it is it feels like there is stuff missing.

Otherwise I agree with the others. All in all I enjoyed the journey, I am sad that it is done and I will most likely enjoy the spin-offs as well :)

If people weren't thrilled for the ending, s7 would've probably been conceived way worse. Building up tension to cumulate in basically nothing, nice imdb rating you got there bros.

in that vid, according to him, david and dan's IMDB ratings before GoT were terrible 4Head
he also said that they may be great when adapting from already great source material, but once they have to use their own imagination...
