Quick lil music dump. Haven't caught up with the 1001album shit last days as the cold kind of gave me a headache and listening wasnt in it. But today I came across a lot of really neat music on youtube and tidal.
So first one: Mac Miller - Surf cover. Damn I like this. maybe even more than the original
Then a neat album I found which I can recommend listening to: The Deep Field - Joan As Police Woman
With this banger on it:
and another neat album: Queen of Denmark - John Grant with this song that has some real neat vibe to it. He tends to have kind of funny songs, but they actually sound good.
And a whole other category that I have been getting into lately is classical music. On my exploration I have been trying to find composers which were not too standard and just pop songs with more classical instruments.
So I found two already that im a big fan of:
- Sibelius
- Shostakovich
This symphony of Sibelius has a heroic theme to it which more of his symphonies do as he brought nationalism back to the Finns. But its just so neat that I like it even though I dont understand yet fully what I am listening to :<
This symphony of Shostakovich is really neat. its intense and has a good russian taste to it to say the least. Reason for it is that he got ordered by the ussr to make more nationalistic music and he just went over the top with it so that real classical music critics would know it was just pretty much all a story of forced happiness.
I can recommend to just listen to the whole thing, but if you just wanna get the gist of it. Skip to like 46:00 and listen to the last few minutes. It's truly wonderful and it ends with literally 252 A notes being played in a row as to really show what forced happiness is. It's intense AF and beautiful.
