I checked some pages on the whining about the arcade matchmaking formula, apparently it's supposed to give a maximum spread of 1.0, but a lot of people have spreads higher than that

always thought it is 1.33 with a max. spread of 1.66. But well, it's not a secret that many things got fucked up with the latest patches in WT.

Landscape rendering on specific computer configurations has been greatly optimised
Research System has been changed - now a player can research an aircraft even when the plane before it has not been purchased.
Disappearing landscape bug has been fixed.
Fixed kill credit when player aircraft can still be repaired.
Jagdpanther damage model has been fixed (both standard and also commander-premium version).
Collision with ground and objects model of the Aufklarungspanzer tank has been fixed.

New tournament map has been added.
Several client crashes have been fixed.
Fixed tank shell descriptions.
Infantry rendering has been optimised.
Fixed calculation of the tank aim reticle (now it will correctly calculate turret rotation and the barrel position of the targeted vehicle)
Added screen message about the players tank being set on fire.

But you still need to buy six of the same tier planes before you can start researching a plane of the next tier I'm guessing.

Yeah, made those comments right before writing this post here.

I was probably in the same boat as SS, who on the other hand, gave up too quickly.
Yeah, running into a KV-1 with your Pz II is just not fun and will never be fun (realistic and historical accuracy during 1941 aside, those poor guys ).

While he was being rammed to death by PzIII with 50mm gun, I was getting one-shot all the time by Pz IV with derp 75mm or T-34 with short 76.2 across the map, while having 30mm of penetration to fight back.

Decided to change my plans to get Panther and Tiger before OB, went Soviet line and never looked back.

The game has A LOT of potential but clearly needs a a lot more work to go public, imo.
MM, physics, tank handling, map obstacles (trees, water, rocks) just to name a few.
