You get points according to how your picks perform on the race weekends (https://fantasy.formula1.com/points-scoring). Lineup gets locked when qualis start, otherwise you can do 3 free substitutions per raceweek (After that it starts costing you fantasy points). This is also when you get to see what others picked for the weekend.
