Thing is, we can't make the game because we have awful players in defence and midfield. We have to let the enemy come so we create space for Robben, and if the enemy doesn't come forward (like Costa Rica and Argentina did) it's going to be a boring chessgame. We lack the creativity and passing ability to find openings against defensive teams, missing Strootman was a big blow. Everyone is happy we got as far as we did though, noone expected us to make it out of the group stages with this team. GL to Germany and Argentina.

I doubt very many people enjoyed this match and I can't blame them.

Hardcore defense is a viable strategy but makes for extremely dull game play. If I recall correctly Greece snatched European Championship a few years back following this logic.

What Holland as well as Argentina lacked in that match was individual strokes of brilliance. Neither Robben nor Messi carried hard enough but I can understand when stakes are as high as yesterday, nobody wants to take the risk/blame. Look what happened to Brazil (screw them btw).
