in the most german mining branches its this scheme

White = supervision (Steiger, Engineers ofc)
Yellow = common miner

traditionally in underground mining these colours exist additionally to white and yellow.

Green = miners + work safety surveillance
Blue = maintenance
Red = miners in the Grubenwehr (mine rescue)
+ Orange is mostly for visitors

These scheme is used since a long time and its still in use in German hardcoal mining.
