the race result would like to make a counter point to the tactics thing, though a load of teams didn't plan properly and ended up with no last lap.

I think on the f1 subreddit someone mentioned that last year in china the very last car to leave the pits at the end of q1 left with 2:30mins to go (first ones with more than 3 mins spare)
as opposed to this year when the first cars left at around 2:30 remaining. Supposedly because everyone wanted a tow of the mercs/ferraris but with both teams going late that ended up costing the other teams
not the end of Qualifying they wanted.

Vettel i belive was the last one to cross the line in time and he overtook the renaults, max and maybe even one or two haas cars to barely make it, everyone else wasn't looking at the time.

Looking at the race though the qualifying f-ups were the most entertaining things of the weekend, minus albon who got from the pits as p20 to p10, but that was about it.

Those Stats don't lie. (And it maybe helps a little bit that a minimum driver weight was introduced so that tall drivers don't have to adhere to as strict of a diet as they used to.)

Max Verstappen simply cannot be praised enough for these first 5 races.

He's at such a disadvantage, being forced into low downforce setups because of the power deficit and still ahead of Ferrari on high downforce tracks somehow

The few mistakes he has made this season (spinning after a race, missing quali in china, spinning during formation ) have had almost no impact on this result after 5 races.
